    Important Notes:

  • Send your application before February 15th. The earlier the better.

  • Any decisions about who gets included among the 'first 60' will be made by that date.

  • Completing the REGISTER's on-line RAGBRAI form and HBA's RAGBRAI Application Form does not automatically get you a wristband and HBA accomodations.

  • Send a separate application for each person:  (More than one application can be mailed in the same envelope.)

  • You must sign both the HBA RAGBRAI Application and the RAGBRAI waiver. Unsigned applications will be returned.

  • The cancellation fee this year is $40. until April 30th, and $80. afterwards.  The remaining fee will be refunded when we are able to sell you spot.  This fee helps cover costs and effort associated with reselling the passes.

  • HBA's Rules For Participating in RAGBRAI:

  • The DES MOINES REGISTER makes 60 wristbands available to HBA club members. Local, active HBA cyclists who participate in HBA events and club rides get 'first dibs' on the wristbands.

  • In the past, prior-year riders could register ahead of other HBA members. That has changed slightly, but prior-year RAGBRAI ridership will continue to be important.

  • Non-local club members and out-of-town relatives bring a lot of fun to our shared experience. The will continue to be welcomed.

  • If the number of applicants exceeds 60, plan-B is for extra riders to apply for individual wristbands through the lottery. HBA can provide servies (overnight facilities, daily baggage transport, etc.) if the extra riders can provide their own transportation to the starting point.

  • In 2010, we supported an 13 extra week-long riders, plus 5 day-pass riders
